Placement: This piercing was invented by Manrique of Costa Rica. He called it the Nies (Spanish for It’s Not) because “it’s not” ear lobe and “it’s not” face.
Healing Time: 6-8 weeks.
Jewelry: Although the Nies was first done with a 16g straight barbell and is the traditional choice, it can be pierced with 18g – 14g straight, curved, circular barbells and bead rings.
Troubleshooting: When properly placed with the proper jewelry, there are little problems with this piercing. Migration is a possibility but a very low risk when performed properly. As with all piercings, if you have any problems, consult with your piercer at Master Pierce.
Aftercare: We suggest cleaning your piercings with H2Ocean Piercing Aftercare Spray 2 – 4 times a day. Refer to our Aftercare Instructions for more details.
Retiring: If you have an uneventful healing period, these piercings are virtually impossible to see once you remove them. The condition of the piercing and the reason why you removed it will determine the final appearance.
