Traditional Tongue

Placement: Middle of the tongue, distance from the tip of the tongue varies depending on individual anatomy.

Healing Time: 4-8 weeks

Jewelry: 14g straight barbells

Troubleshooting: Since oral piercings will swell in most cases, your initial jewelry will be longer to allow for swelling. If your swelling gets worse, consult your piercer. After 2-4 weeks, have your jewelry changed to a shorter one by your piercer.

Aftercare: For inside your mouth, use a non alcoholic mouthwash like Biotene or H2Ocean 2-4 times a day or as needed. Refer to our Aftercare Instructions for more details.

Retiring: Oral piercings can close very quickly even if you have had it for years. To ensure that you won’t lose your piercing, always keep the jewelry in. The scars for these are hardly noticeable with an uneventful healing process.
